these days

earlier this week i downloaded nico's "chelsea girl" from the iTunes music store. I finally got around to giving it a good listen today, and found that the opening riff on one of the songs sounded undescribably familiar, but i was sure it wasn't from hearing the nico song.

thank goodness for google; it helped me find the full story on that song.

unfortunately, i think it was the k-mart commercial that i was remembering.

my bet is that you heard "these days" while watching the royal tenenbaums. (at least that's the story you can stick to...)

do we have chelsea girl in the stacks?? (i hope not because i gave it to the station as a holiday present yesterday... how embarrasing that i should give my own radio station something it already has! who, after all, should i know better?).

as far as i know, the station didn't already have it. i wondered if it was you who had left it-- i didn't spot it til after i'd already played 'these days'-- but then decided to play 'i'll keep it with mine' as my last song so used it for that.

weird synchronicity of nico.

wow! were you the one who actually unwrapped it??

the synchronicity will keep going. i pledge to play "these days" on my show tonight.

indeed, i was the one to unwrap it. or at least, i'm pretty sure that "doctor dave" didn't unwrap it-- and he was the only other person up there that evening.

the newspaper wrapping makes it stand out from the rest of the backfill, so i wrapped it back up again.

what happy news! i hope it keeps surprising people.

i realized that it's not really "synchronicity" if i'm planning on doing it. but whatever. i think it's time for chelsea girl to become a full-on rage.

ok, so a) your comment won't post right away because i have to approve it first and b) you might get a server error but your comment probably posted anyway and c) previewing doesn't work so i've removed the preview button.
