pondering while driving

bart's real deal post had me pondering old shows i'd seen, while driving home tonight, and somewhere along memory lane i got started thinking of artists i've seen perform who are now dead. I could only come up with four:

d. boon
jerry garcia
sun ra
pavarotti

i really wish i had records of all the shows i've seen over the years; i once found a ticket stub to a royal crescent mob show that i have absolutely no memory of attending. it makes me wonder who i've forgotten who might belong on the above list. or just, who i've forgotten.

anyway, who would go on your list?

I'm so old that I can't remember MOST of the concerts I went to, and I'm probably forgetting lots of dead guys, but for the "dead artists I've seen" list, I can contribute Frank Zappa, Michael Hedges, John Bonham (Led Zep), Harry Chapin, and Bon Scott (AC/DC).

It's an irritating topic to me today, because I went to Raleigh last night for a RatDog concert (led by Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead). I'm angry that I put myself into a position where I needed earplugs but didn't have any. Was sitting right by a huge amp stack, and today my hearing is still compromised. At least this isn't an old age complaint!

ok, so a) your comment won't post right away because i have to approve it first and b) you might get a server error but your comment probably posted anyway and c) previewing doesn't work so i've removed the preview button.
