Moses "Brown" Linn, 6/28/91 - 10/4/08

moses3.gif Moses died this morning in Newport News, Va. Jason and I were with him when he died.

He was the most extraordinary cat I've ever known. We were together for seventeen years... probably almost to the day. When he and his mother Franny came to live with me, he was so young that he was still nursing.

He loved hunting small furry creatures, wresting with shoes, being chased, making the bed, being scratched under the chin, talking, and cheese.

I miss him.

Dear Moses!! I am sorry for your loss. My dear friend Joe V. advised me of Moses' passing and I wanted to offer my sincere condolences. I work for the #1 Feline Veterinarian in Tucson, AZ, and appreciate how much love our kittehs bring to our lives. How wonderful that you were able to be a companion to Moses for so many years, and how blessed you are to have had him too. Whiskery kisses!!!

A long and happy life, Moses would say.

May your sadness be lessened by all the fond, furry memories of your time together.

Lisa, I am so very sorry to read the sad news that Moses passed. I've been reading your blog about Moses's plight for over a year now. Your site popped up when I googled 'feline kidney failure'. My precious Annie-teacup passed in May after surviving end stage for a record setting five years...along with a heart murmur. AND...she weathered a vaccine induced malignant tumour which surgeons removed (along with her hind leg). Fluid therapy (twice daily), oral potassium, sub-q pepcid AC, and Epogen injections were routine in my household. She kept marching forward...til May. I miss my brave three legged beauty.... terribly!! She was my touchstone.

I know, based on your blog, that Moses was a happy and very, very loved little guy.

You and Moses are in my thoughts...

Oh, Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear this. It's so hard to lose a companion. You're in my thoughts.

Hi Lisa - I'm so sorry to hear about Moses' passing. He was a tough guy. He hung in there a lot longer than Alex did after he was diagnosed with CRF. Those delicate little kitty kidneys get so many of them in the end. I know it's hard to lose such a special one. I thought they'd have to put me in the loony bin when Mouffle died, but when it actually happened, there was a lot of sadness but somehow it pretty quickly moved from awful to bittersweet, then to mostly sweet, just remembering the funny things about him. And no loony bin was necessary after all. Take care.
