Ok, you gotta stop playing up the English cottage part because it is terrifying me so much I might have to bring protective Frenchmen and Muslims to the party. Recall that I wasted at least one horrifying year of "life" there. Sure, you American kids, with your working plumbing and your lack of mysterious waterborne illness, your blissful unawareness of just how violent a mob of drunks can get after 12 pints apiece and your lack of constant exposure to persistent creeping damp, you think it's all good, safe halloween fun! Well, remember the beginning of Shaun of the Dead, where the protagonist doesn't realize he's surrounded by zombies because that's how everyone usually acts? Know this!: It's such an accurate representation of the UK that me and a classmate once fought over who would get to use it as evidence in their dissertation.

so, did you win?

well, that classmate dropped out, so in a sense, yes, yes I did win.
