calling comic book geeks!
i think i may attempt to adopt a graphic novel/comic book style for the allpods site this year. this is a bit silly because i have never been a huge comic book reader :) but i think the style would be very suitable for the tone i want to set this year, the look i want to achieve, and because it's an unfolding narrative.
i know that some of you are comic book readers, however! if any of you would be willing to supply me with some examples-- ie, loan me some comics and/or graphic novels-- i'd be totally grateful.

i have:
all the sandman tpbs
a bunch of alan moore - v for vendetta, watchmen (which i may have misplaced), league of extraordinary gentlemen vol. 1
all issues of 100 bullets to date
some other stuff as well, i think. you're welcome to any of it, especially if you bring me low-carb food. :)

i've got a bunch of old love & rockets, the promethea books, optic nerve, and probably a few other odds and ends. any of which you're welcome to borrow.

We also have the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Why I Hate Saturn. I hate to sound dense but, what do you mean by a graphic novel style for the all pods site? Like word balloons in the photos?

maybe it will be easier to show than to explain in words... i see a role for word balloons, maybe, we will see. also visual representations of who is "speaking" in our blog entries-- that has always been a problem when the site has multiple blog authors, it is hard to make it totally, immediately clear who is writing which entry.
i think i need to get all the content for a given day on one page, and have one page per day-- with multiple kinds of content, i need a way of dividing the page. maybe more illustrative-looking borders will give the site a more human feel. in fact, i would like to have more photographic and illustrative elements in the page in general, more like the first year when i created the little icons and used a lot of color.
while the blog format has been good in some ways, especially now that we have live updates from the car. but i think it has driven the layout and design too much in the last couple of years. i think the design and site organization of the first year is the best. so i need to bend the blog to my will a little more this year :)

ok, so a) your comment won't post right away because i have to approve it first and b) you might get a server error but your comment probably posted anyway and c) previewing doesn't work so i've removed the preview button.
