oh, i am such a girl.
should there ever again be any doubt-- the next time you see me wielding a sledgehammer or reading a bentley manual-- just remember that there seems to be no limit to the number of times i can watch 'four weddings and a funeral'. and i cry every time matthew reads this bit from w.h. auden:
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

Makes me cry too. And I'm not even a girl!
I have the screenplay to FWAF somewhere around my house. And a little collection of Auden's "Tell me the Truth About Love" poems (including Funeral Blues).
In one five-day period with extended family in Amsterdam and Copenhagen, I saw FWAF four times in two different languages. The puns and rhymes work in Dutch but not in Danish, just in case you were wondering.

Notting Hill was on tonight. Not as good as FWAF, but better than the Superbowl.

oh, damn, i missed that! i really liked notting hill, too.
i think it was the three episodes of queer eye that took precidence. that pretty much took up the evening, and actually i WOULD rather watch queer eye than notting hill :)
