whittling down the list

this weekened i did what i really needed to be doing-- spent the entire weekend immersed in the allpods web site.

i spent a good chunk of time at ooh la latte both yesterday and today, and that worked out extremely well. i needed to do some creative work-- design the t-shirt-- and the stimulating environment there was perfect for that. it wasn't so good today for doing coding, but still it was great to get out of the house to do some work.

so the t-shirts are done, and they're pretty cute. here's the design and here's the cafepress store. i was very pleased this year by the number of options for women-- i've got a pink tee and a pink baseball tee coming my way.

i worked a lot today with the webcam stuff that i need for the server side. it's pretty elaborate this year, because i'll be showing miniature versions of the images in the little tv set on the main 2004 page. in fact, i'm in the middle of creating some logic that will display either the live feed or a slideshow of the most recent day's images, while we're on the road, and some yet-to-be-created cute and informative image when we're not.

i feel like i'm doing ok with time, but that's mainly because i'm going to have nearly a week off for the memorial day holiday. if i can go into that weekend with the web site 90% finished, i will feel pretty good about things.

i traditionally go to my mom's beach house that weekend to detail the car extensively, and run a live web cam test. well, i can't this year because my stepsisters got the house for the weekend (boo!). i don't need to do the cam test, really-- after four years, i know what i'm doing. it won't be as nice to detail the car in my driveway, because if it rains or if there's pollen or crap drifting down from the trees, that'll cause problems. but i'll probably be ok.

i'll get another long weekend before i leave-- maybe four whole days, or three and a half. that will also help a lot.

i'm plugging my remaining to-do list into the MORE link you see below. for anyone who is just dying to see it. it's probably somewhat incomplete and inaccurate but it's got a lot of what i need to do on it.

you know, we used the cam with the broken mount & didn't have any problems at all. The cam stayed in place even without the pins. Though we never drove faster than about 30 mph.

where did you get those magnets you use for the cam mounts? we've decided we need stronger magnets for the bubble machine. the new mounting frame raises the machine up & makes it less stable.
