street legal, jet powered new beetle
Ron Patrick's Street-Legal Jet Powered VW Beetle
picked this up from the newbug list... two things i like (besides the whole idea of a jet powered beetle): the fact that it's an automatic, which cracks me up, but i guess with that kind of power, it just doesn't matter if you have a manual transmission or not, and the way he installed the gauges. i've seen a lot of beetles with gauges added, and i think this comes closest to respecting the original design of the interior of all that i have seen. of course, the exposed back would need to be covered to really get it right aesthetically, but he's got the right idea by creating an additional concentric circle.
