KRAMPUS
this weekend my local bug club is going to participate in the Chapel Hill Holiday parade (Saturday, 10pm - noon, Franklin St), as we have several times in the past.
This year, though, we're actually pretty organized, and we have our best turn-out yet, a good six or seven bugs. A while back a few of us concocted a plan to have my convertible serve as a "sleigh" and the other bugs portray reindeer. M was going to ride in the back of the sleigh as Ms. Claus or something like that.
Well, last night when I met with M and B to work on antlers and crap like that, she proposed that she actually appear as Krampus. Not being the hugest fan of the traditional American Christmas, I was into the idea.
So I mailed the "rein-car" drivers last night to see if anyone would have a problem with this. So far no objections... and one person said she thought it was a great idea.
So... ah... we'll see.....
But if you're local and can haul your butt out of bed in time on Saturday, I think it's going to be worth it.

It's a shame there's no patron saint of Festivus: you could use them if there were.

I'll be there! Looking forward to seeing the bugs. (Is the winky bug going to be there again?)

winky bug? was it green with charlie brown stripes?
i think we're not going to have the krampus however, i started having nightmare visions of enraged parade organizers forbidding us from returning ever again...
i spent the evening making cardboard antlers.
