BPAL - sniff-fest #2, Swank, Dorian
an embarassment of riches-- that's what it feels like to own nearly 100 different scents, which currently, i do. and yet, there's very little overlap between me, sarah, and alicia.
the great thing was being able to give those new to bpal-- christa and shayne-- such a thorough introduction, with lots of representation from almost every category of scent. since we all know bpal a lot better now, we could make recommendations once the newbies hit upon something they liked. for shayne, clean, aquatic, citrus, and mint scents hit the spot and sarah and i have tons of those between us. christa liked snake oil as soon as she sniffed it, although the other incensy scents didn't strike as much of a chord.
i also had a large sell/swap pile that was whittled down a bit; it was nice to have stuff available so they didn't have to walk away empty-handed.
anyway, we're planning fest #3 for early november, after our Halloween scents have arrived. Pumpkin, anyone? I bought the entire Patch :)
i also scored an imp of Vixen from alicia, which means i can get to fixin' some vixen lotion, hair spritz, and other goodies without fearing i'll go through my entire supply before my big bottle arrives. since my entire supply before yesterday was less than 1ml, i felt the need to not go completely crazy with the stuff. but now-- look out! prepare to be Vixenated!

on me, the sweet vanilla dominates, but it's definitely got a backbone, something a little dark and a little sexy. me likey.

absolutely a new favorite. crisp and clear, a bit sweet, very juicy and tangy, this is everything I hoped Persephone would be, and wasn't. it's got good throw, too-- at work friday, joe commented that this one he could actually smell on me without directly sniffing my wrist, and that it smelled good.
this will get a lot of wear, and i will probably get a small bottle of it. it also makes me look forward to a sniff of a new scent called The Hamptons, which is the scent of a Cosmopolitan cocktail.
You know, I should totally have people over for cocktails sometime soon. Not a full on party, just swanking and drinking. mmm.
