BPAL rejects: Blood Kiss, Lucy's Kiss, Hamadryad
I had an imp of Blood Kiss in my "to try" box, not realizing i'd tried it before. I tried it tonight and it was sickeningly sweet, so cloyingly sweet that it turned my stomach a little and I washed it off. Then thought to see if I had notes on it from before. Funny, I did. Complete opposites. Age of the oil? My body chemistry at the times I tried it? Weird. Either way, it's outta here.
Lucy's Kiss is a rose scent, and as such naturally smells exactly like Ivory soap on me.
Hamadryad was something I had to make myself try. I didn't like it in the bottle-- it smells like chemicals. I didn't like it wet on my skin. I forced myself to wait for drydown. It dried into something tolerable, a scent I recognize from some commercial men's colognes, a scent I've never enjoyed smelling on a man very much. Harsh, with no spice or sweetness. I guess it's what the BPAL aficianados call 'herbal'.
