BPAL - Akuma, Jester, Kyoto, Shadow

Jester

"Huckleberry and red currant with the incisive bite of neroli"

This was a frimp with my first lab order. (A freebie.) This is very sweet, and a bit fruity. It's pleasant, but not as nuanced as my favorite fruity-sweet scent, Pink Moon.

Akuma

"Devilish temptation, as sweet as sin: blood orange, neroli, and raspberry."

Actually, much less sweet than Jester. Quite sharp when wet, it sweetens and mellows as it dries. However, I don't think it's quite my thing.

Shadow

"A subtly menacing blend of lemon verbena, white sandalwood and cedar, dimmed by droplets of the darkest patchouli. "

In the general family of cedar-ey scents, all of which I seem to love.

Does the patchouli in Shadow cause it to smell like hippie shop at all? I think Steph has it, but I can't remember if she liked it, and I haven't tried it.

i guess it does, a bit. i don't have a problem with patchouli, although it seems like everyone i know does. cedar is the dominant note in shadow, to me, and the patchouli is there but blended well.

d'oh. no. i intended to review it, then decided i wasn't getting a good enough idea of it, but forgot to take it out of the title.
