your random prince quote of the day

"I said now overcast days never turned me on, but something about the clouds and her mixed. She wasn't too bright, but i could tell when she kissed me, she knew how to get her kicks."

- Raspberry Beret, Around the world in a day, 1985

see, i don't get that. i think overcast days are great. oh well. this has always been one of my great disappointments with prince-- he finds everything sexy; surely overcast days and thunderstorms should be included in that?

(i totally missed a day! oops! maybe i'll do two today.)

hm.

i always thought that last line was "i could tell when she kissed me she knew how to give a kiss."

i actually got those off a lyrics board, but i just re-listened to that verse to be sure, and it's clear that he's saying, "get her kicks".

Musicology Tour. Are you going? I wish I were going. But I'm trying to be wiser with my dollars, and what's more I have an interesting business dinner to attend that evening, so that's that. Two good things (business and saving money) and one minor tragedy (missing Prince's final live performances of his greatest hits.) Oh, and I thought the same as Christa about the line.

I like "Raspberry Beret" a lot, but some of the lyrics are lame IMO.

Tickets ranged from "too much" to "sweet mericful Jesus that's way too much".

And I like Prince, but I just can't rationalize supporting RBC center.
