or maybe they were extraordinary.
the first was a truck, in cary. i spent several seconds trying to parse the imagery on the side of this truck. it was photographic, and seemed to be of glistening, raw meat, or entrails. above the photo was the word, very large, "CHOICE". With the quotes. and then finally, below, i saw the text, "first trimester abortion."
i saw the truck later in another part of town, at a stoplight across from me. i got a photo, but hesitate to post it. i feel like i'd just be furthering their cause.
when i see things like that, i would like to ask the people responsible if they are vegetarians. if they want to put things in terms of meat, well, let's talk about meat.
ok, so the other thing i saw.
i did some work in the front yard today after work. i had these bags of mulch i bought probably two years ago and never used. finally decided to use them today, though they're more like compost than mulch by this point! anyway, as i was dumping out the third bag, a pile of leaves came out with the mulch (odd... how did leaves get in the plastic bag??) and then i realized that a small family of voles had tumbled out of the bag as well. don't worry; they had a soft landing, and were soon nosing down into the mulch again. hopefully when night fell they scurried off to find a safer place to nest-- the mulch in question is in my driveway.
i watched them for several minutes, and talked to them a little, too. told them to find a better place to nest. i wanted to pick them up and carry them to a safer place but it seemed like a bad idea to touch them.
