so i had this experience on tuesday which, at the time, i characterized as being overwhelming, but in the context of abruptly changing managers it kinda pales.

recently christa decided that, if she was gonna fix up her wardrobe, she should also fix up her face. so she went to the lancome counter and got a "make-under" (ie, a makeover that doesn't look she's wearing any makeup).

well, i've never done anything like that, so i thought i'd give it a try. so on tuesday i went with christa, mary, and sarah to the lancome counter and we met lancome liz. it was quite the party.

i have to say that i've never seen my face look like that. it looked good, but just very different from what i'm used to. i have pretty strongly held ideas about what colors are right for me, for instance, and liz didn't stick with my little internal rule set at all.

i guess appearance is strongly tied to identity-- at least for me it is-- so to have your appearance changed by someone else is somewhat disconcerting.
