your baby is not improving my commute
those of you who travel down the Durham Freeway regularly will know of what I speak.
the billboard overlooking the Freeway that reads...
"Colin James Jee - born whenver - Jee Whiz!"
with a big ole picture of an infant.
i look at it every morning, and wonder.
what the hell??

what if it added, "future honor student at [wherever]"? would that make you feel more impressed? i didn't think so. :-}

pinky... i think it means someone has an inflated sense of the importance of their baby.
MY BABY IS SO AWESUM IT NEEDS A BILLBOARD!

May be...it was a gift to my child from a friend who works with the billboard company. I think it was a nice jester and sure looks a lot better than a hotel, internet, etc advertisement.
I think you need to ask yourself "what the hell" is wrong with me (Lisa) for posting something so insensitive and about a billboard that is not harming anyone (actually placed out there to bring a smile to people on their way to/from work/home).

Ah, mystery solved. Definitely someone with an inflated sense of the importance of their own baby, especially if she expects everyone to smile when they saw it! And an inflated sensitivity, if she thought this post was "insensitive." Insensitive would have been calling the baby ugly or something.
Here's the rules as I see them, Colin's Mom: You put a gigantic picture of your baby in a very public place, you open yourself up to free public comment, no matter how "insensitive" you may think it is. Don't want that sort of attention? Don't put up the billboard. Simple!
