the thirty-fifth

since i will be the frontrunner for the 35th birthday that several of us will be experiencing in january and february, i am going to try to keep the rest of you appraised of anything you might need to know about turning 35.

first thing: you'll have to renew your driver's license. i got a little card in the mail today telling me this.

this message brought to you by the numbers three and five, and the letters OH MY GOD WE'RE SO OLD.

Repeat after me: we are not old. We. Are. Not. Old.

There is an age when a woman who wears youthful clothes & doesn't act mature looks pathetic. That's Betsey Johnson territory. We're nowhere near that.

yeah, i'm not so sure i want to start thinking of myself as "old".

i saw a woman today, pushing a stroller. she was probably our age, but the holiday sweater vest and the frumpy pants made her look old.

sarah's right. we. are. not. old.

if we had children, we might be, though.

dude, holiday sweaters are never good. kid or no kid, that's just wrong.

"Appliques are evil" isn't even a fashion principle; it's a tautology.
