slouching toward yule
i will admit that although i'm proud of the fact that there are carolers in my neighborhood every year, i can't stand to be caroled at.
this year they arrived immediately after i returned from the grocery store. i allowed them a warbling rendition of "santa claus is coming to town" before very politely cutting them off and saying goodnight.
it has taken a few days to work up the spirit or whatever i needed to actually put lights on the tree. the tree arrived in the house sunday afternoon; lighting was applied this evening while watching one of rankin-bass lesser works, "rudolph and frosty's christmas in july".
i'm just not that into this holiday, but i try, because otherwise it's really depressing.

It's too early for carolers.
In my 'hood the carolers send out an e-mail telling you to send you address if you want to be caroled at. Then they just go to the houses on the list.
