my civic duty, addendum
Q. What should I bring with me to the courthouse?
A. Bring a book or other reading materials, or needlework, crossword puzzles, stationery, or other materials to occupy your time.
yes, i'll bring my stationery. that's what i'll do.

Stephanie wasn't allowed to bring knitting or crochet with her to jury duty - apparently the needles/hooks are good weapons.

They didn't say anything about sewing needles, but I'm sure the metal detector would've caught those. It didn't like my underwire bra.
