movies to watch before going to vegas for the first time
Sarah and Georg and I were discussing this last night. We came up with:
- Ocean's Eleven (both new and old)
- the episode of Angel that's in Vegas (because Sarah and I are BtVS fans)
Any other suggestions? I especially like heist movies, myself.

This book I finished recently, Cult Vegas, has a section on Vegas movies. A few of the others mentioned include Viva Las Vegas, Diamonds are Forever, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Mars Attacks. There were so many more. I might write up a longer post on my blog. You're also welcome to borrow the book if you're interested.

Today someone suggested Casino. I've never seen it but I hear there's a big scene in the Peppermill Lounge, groovy place that still looks exactly the same as it did forty years ago. check out this photo: http://www.vegas.com/nightlife/bars/peppermill.html

Partially related: Can I suggest that you go to Vegas on the weekend? According to a television program called CSI, there are four murders in Vegas every week night; but at the weekend there aren't any. Play it safe - make it a Saturday and Sunday trip.
