installing a new habit
been meaning to post this for a week now. via lifehacker, an excellent article on how to install a new habit. this is basically what i'm trying to do by cooking dinner for myself every night now. if i can do that for a good two weeks then i should have at least somewhat established the habit.
then we work on getting to bed before midnight...

Hey Lisa,
That is a really great article. I'm inspired by your motivation for all your various projects. Motivation has not been my friend for the past few years, but getting better now through conscious difficult effort. The motivation I've always had for schoolwork deserts me when I'm not in school. The "day job" just drains me. I can't believe the energy you had for doing creative stuff and hanging out and staying up late, and you've had the day job all along. And you know what? The TV - god the TV. I finally see what you meant all those years ago. I just couldn't understand why you didn't want it on. Yeah sure, it's an energy drainer and attention stealer but so what? Time felt infinite and sadly I didn't feel like I had anything better to do. Not so now on either count. When did time go from being infinite to being soooo short? And why didn't I think of a bunch of cool stuff to do back when I had so much time? Damn.
